I can't believe it's only a week away and I haven't blogged about it yet! This time next week, I will be installing a three-story installation entitled Coalesce in the store-front window of H&M @ Queen and Spadina for Scotiabank Nuit Blanche! I will share some pics of my process soon, but in the meantime, here is an invite I made for the show!

"Don't Touch" - Exhibition Photos
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all who came out to the opening of our exhibition "Don't Touch" at Red Head Gallery. It was really lovely to have the opportunity to sit the gallery during the exhibition and to spend some time at 401 Richmond. If you didn't get a chance to check it out, here are some pics from each of our collaborations with Marianne Burlew, encased in plastic. Hope you enjoy!

The Red Head Gallery is pleased to present Don't Touch, an exhibition by guest artist Marianne Burlew.
Don’t Touch is a series of collaborations between Marianne Burlew and twelve other artists whose work inspires a physical response. Each artist has contributed one or more pieces to be encapsulated in air and plastic by Burlew, with the intent of taking into consideration the affect of denied or limited interaction with each artwork.
By allotting each art piece it’s own plastic environment, viewers will only be allowed a specific distance from each work. By enforcing this distance, the tension between both the private space and emotional intimacy each work demands is brought into focus. This speaks to a collective frustration with the gallery space as one that alienates the physical desires of the viewer and ultimately rejects the body as a valid method of cognition.

Hello all, I am just posting to let you know if you haven't seen it yet, this is the last week to check out my new installation in the exhibition Studious at Harbourfront Centre. There will also be an unofficial closing party at Harbourfront on Saturday as we celebrate the opening of the all-new fully renovated and integrated Craft & Design Studio!!! You can read more about the new Studio expansion and the all-new Design Residency Here. The ceremony will take place from 5-7pm followed by a Dance Party at Lakeside Terrace!!! Hope to see you there!
STUDIOUS
Lizz Aston, Marianne Burlew, Jae Hyun George Cho, Jay Joo, K. Claire MacDonald, Amanda McCavour, Rachael Wong, Patrycja Zwierzynska
Curated by Melanie Egan and Patrick Macaulay
To describe someone as studious brings to mind qualities of diligence, attentiveness and quiet perseverance. This undoubtedly describes the artists in the exhibition but also playfully draws attention to time spent working in various studios and how that environment influences their work and process.
These artists are steeped in knowledge gained from exhaustive material study and imbued with the confidence and flexibility to subvert and abstract what they have learned. Guided, but not blindly lead by rich histories and time honoured techniques, they create fresh and insightful works.
For forty years this in-depth exploration of craft and design has been a core principle of Harbourfront Centre’s Craft & Design studios. This exhibition celebrates the considerable influence it has had on the careers of emerging artists, designers and craftspeople.
